Gregory Batchelor

Senior Pastor

Greg came to HRBC in April 2016 after he and his wife sensed God calling them to reach out to the city of Florence. Greg has served on church staffs since 1998 in various capacities including recreation minister, student minister, associate pastor, and senior pastor. He and Linzie have been married since 2003 and have two daughters. Greg and Linzie attended the same home church in Hartsville.

After graduation from Hartsville High, Greg went to Coker College on a baseball scholarship. While pitching for the Cobras, he also ran on the Cross Country team his Junior and Senior years. After graduation from Coker with a degree in Chemistry, Greg attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He obtained a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages. Nine years later, he graduated SEBTS again with a Doctorate of Ministry in MIssions, Evangelism and Church Growth.

Greg's favorite food is "anything Mexican." Even though he coached baseball for 8 years in the public school, his favorite sport now is golf. He is still an adrenaline junkie and loves being outside.

His favorite passages include Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8, and Acts 2:38-47. One of his favorite expressions is "This is life here on earth is not all that there is." He believes time is of the essence and the mission is great. He is thankful God called him to lead the congregation of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church.
